Paediatric Dentistry
This is dentistry tailored towards children between the stages of birth and puberty and
it is essentially so because their dentition is different from that of the adult and the
treatment as well.
There is a general misconception that ‘baby teeth’ do not require the same care as
adult teeth but this is not the case as healthy primary teeth helps children eat
comfortably, smile confidently and speak clearly, furthermore these ‘milk teeth’
lay the foundation for healthy adult teeth.
It is recommended that a parent schedule a child’s first dental visit as soon as their first tooth appears, followed by at least two visits a year.
